David Marr grew up in the small community of Dryden, Ontario. After completing his university studies in Winnipeg, Dave ventured west to Kamloops where he has remained ever since.
Dave is married and, although he set out to have only daughters, is the proud father of four sons, aged 12 to 28. When not at work, you can find Dave at one of his children’s sporting events or in the hills surrounding Kamloops atop his mountain bike.
Dave has been a member of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia since its inception and is an active member of the Board of Governors. In recognition of his many years of outstanding service to his clients, Dave was presented with the Association’s Bar Award in 2001.
Dave has been actively involved with brain injury issues at the provincial and political level over the years. He was the co-founder of the Kamloops Brain Injury Association in 1985 and currently sits as its president. In order to develop and maintain his expertise in this area, Dave attends numerous conferences on the topic throughout North America.
Dave sits on the Interior Health Authority - Thompson Region Ethics Committee as a legal advisor and was the Legal Division Chair for the Kamloops United Way from 2001 to 2003.
Dave received his Queen’s Counsel in 1986 in recognition of his excellence in his chosen profession.
